How Cor Synergy came to be

Based in Adelaide, South Australia, Cor Synergy was born out of a desire for a good working life for all. Having witnessed relentless workplace bullying of a good friend we knew there had to be better ways to work and manage people.

Our friend was good at their job and was making significant inroads into new sales markets, but this was never good enough for his employer. The deadlines kept getting shorter and the goal posts kept moving. As time went on our friend fell into a deep depression, a common reaction to chronic workplace stress and bullying. This made working even more stressful and taxing. Both he and his family were suffering greatly. It got so bad that our friend was on the very edge of suicide. His car was lined up with a tree when a chance phone call to him saved his life.

Lucinda was studying workplace mediation at the time and began to look into bullying in the workplace. From there she discovered the research being undertaken at the University of South Australia into psychosocial safety. They provide evidence that it is possible to have a productive workplace and look after your people at the same time. In fact, it is proven to be better business. This is something she always knew instinctively but to have the evidence to show others fuelled her desire to really make a difference and bring wellbeing to the workplace.

Bruce was working as a business development manager and was enjoying working to improve other businesses. He witnessed that where organisations looked after their people and worked with integrity they prospered.

Having dreamt of starting a business together the plight of our friend was enough to push us in the right direction and to start Cor Synergy, to help organisations look after their people and their business.
